Arcade Fire x John Legend x The Roots

On September 23, 2010, John Legend and the Roots performed at Terminal 5 in New York City for the concert series UNSTAGED presented by American Express.  This video is them performing "Wake Up" by indie rock band Arcade Fire.

MGMT, pissed on.

According to Pitchfork, who quote an Ace Showbiz post, a “fan” at their show in Manchester, England Sunday night threw a glass full of urine at the stage, striking drummer Will Berman in the chest. He left the stage and wouldn’t come back (since he was likely freaking out and changing clothes backstage). It took the band another song to realize he had left. They begged him to return for the last couple songs, but had to do “Kids” and the rest of the set to a pre-recorded drum track.

Rap music's newest rising star Juaquin Malphurs, better known as Waka Flocka Flame, will release his debut album Flockaveli on October 5th. Born in Queens, NY and raised in Atlanta, GA, Waka is the first artist to release an album under mentor Gucci Mane's 1017 Bricksquad imprint. The 17-track album features appearances from Wale, Roscoe Dash, Pastor Troy, and Young Money's Gudda Gudda among others, and was largely helmed by 19-year old Lexus "Lex Luger" Lewis whose biggest hits include Rick Ross' "B.M.F (Blowin' Money Fast)" and "MC Hammer." Fans can expect more "flocka music" from the LP, a style the rapper has coined that embodies high-energy, bass heavy music that embodies the fury found in acts like NWA and Onyx with a heavy southern influence that picks up where Lil' John's Crunk music left off. "You're gonna need some Gatorade or have to get your neck checked after listening to this," warns Waka. "The whole thing bangs from start to finish."


Catch Waka Flocka Flame's performance on this year's BET Hip-Hop Awards where he is nominated for "Rookie of the Year" and "Best Club Banger" for "O Let's Do It" (airs October 12th).

MC Hammer vs. Jay-Z [lol]

In a song recently leaked by Kanye West, which featured Jay-Z (amongst others), Jigga said this:

“And Hammer went broke so you know I’m more focused 

I lost 30 mil so I spent another 30 

Cause unlike Hammer 30 million can’t hurt me."

In response, Hammer posted this Tweet:

NBA Gets New Jerseys for 2010-11 Season

Adidas is unveiling their Revolution 30 jersey this year to coincide with the busy free agent migration this past summer and six teams who’ve totally revamped their uniforms.

"The new uniforms, which are made from 60 percent recycled materials, feature adidas’ Formotion technology, which reduces seams, decreases friction between the garment and the player’s skin and optimizes the player’s natural movement through specially constructed material. adidas reduced uniform weight and increased player comfort by switching front and back numbers from heavier, dense materials to breathable mesh. The new uniform absorbs moisture in less than three seconds as a result of adidas CLIMACOOL fabrics, which move heat and sweat away from the body through a combination of moisture management materials, ventilation channels, and three-dimensional garments, helping the uniform dry twice as fast."
